Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Arusha
On arrival at either Kilimanjaro international airport or Arusha airport, you will be meant by your guide/ driver who will take you through your itinerary before transferring you to your lodge in Arusha for relaxational and shaking of the jetlag as you prepare to start your exploration of this magnificent destination.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
After early morning breakfast, you will transfer with you picnic lunch box to Tarangire national park known for its high concentration of elephants that lives in groups of their families. You will also be able to witness several baobab trees that dots the park. The park is also a home to several other big cats and various bird species that you will meet during your stay in the park. After exploration, you will transfer to your lodge in Mto wambu for an overnight stay and relaxation.
Day 3: Cultural Immersion around Mto wambu region
Your first day for cultural immersion in areas around Mto wambu. You will be able to meet the Masai people, see them preform their tradition dances and telling the story of their origin. You will also be offered a chance to join in their performance to have the first hand feel of how they go about their da y today life experience. After the association with the Masai, you will return to your lodge for relaxation and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
Day 4 of this 7 days Tanzania excursion safari: self drive experience will start with descending to the Ngorongoro crater, the biggest unbroken caldera in the world. The crater is the home to all the big five of Africa that you are likely to encounter during your visit there. You will also witness several bird species on top of the unique diversified landscape that Ngorongoro crater one of the seven wonders of the world. Late in afternoon, you will continue with your journey to Serengeti national park where you will arrive late in evening for relaxation and sleep over.
Day 5: Serengeti National Park
Full day exploration of Serengeti national park, famously known for its participation in the great wildebeest migration which is the year-round event happening within this park starting from south and ending in the northern part of the park. The vast Serengeti national park is the home to several big cats with over 3000 lions estimated to be living within the park. The park is a home to several herbivores and various antelopes that you will encounter during your visit to the park. You will return to your accommodation late in evening for the dinner and freshen up.
Day 6: Lake Eyasi
Now that you have witnessed almost all the big cats and several herbivores plus various bird species, you will now transfer to Lake Eyasi to book a date with the Hadzabe hunter known for their hunting skills and their traditional way of life. You will also have a chance to meet the Datoga people, another traditional group of people living in areas around lake Eyasi. The night will be spent around this area where you will also have your dinner.
Day 7: Departure
Today marks the end of our 7 day exploration through Tanzania, you will drive back to either arusha or Kilimanjaro to catch your flight to your next destination.
