20 days cultural & wildlife adventure: From Dar to Arusha

These 20 days culture and wildlife safari adventure will take you to all the top places of Tanzania starting from Dar es salaam airport and ending at Kilimanjaro international airport. You will be able to visit places like Kilwa Kisiwani, the trip will follow the route to the southern circuit where you will visit parks like Mikumi national park and Selous/ Nyerere national park before heading to the capital city of Tanzania in Dodoma city. After a stop over at Dodoma, you will proceed to the northern circuit where you will be visiting places like Serengeti national park, Ngorongoro conservation area and Kilimanjaro national park where you will pay a visit at the area around Shira plateau.

Day 1: Arrival at Dar es salaam, transfer to the lodge

On arrival at Dar es Salaam airport, you will be meant by your safari guide who will welcome to Tanzania and briefly take you through your itinerary before transferring you to your lodge in Dar for relaxation and preparation of your 20 day trip of discoveries.

Day 2: Kilwa kisiwani

After the morning breakfast, you will drive to Kilwa Kisiwani which is the 5 hour drive from Dar es Salaam through the beautiful landscape. Arrive at you lodge in time for lunch before heading to the observation of the kilwa kisiwani remain. You will be able to visit the mosque, Kipatimu caves which are rare seeings, visit Songo Mnara among other many things that you can see while at this special place.

Day 3-4: Selous game reserve

After the breakfast, you will transfer to Nyerere national park formerly Selous game reserve where you will do your first itinerary. Even though not as popular and frequently visited as Serengeti national park or Ngorongoro conservation area, this park is also ideal for all safari goers of Tanzania. You will be able to see various wildlife including all the big cats during your stay in the park. This park is known to be the biggest protected area in the Tanzania with a lot to be admired from within it.

Day 5-6: Mikumi national park/ Udzungwa national park

You will further extend your adventure to Mikumi national park or Udzungwa national park where you will be able to continue your experience with association of wildlife and different bird species. You will also be able to enjoy the beautiful view of the landscape as you enjoy the remoteness of either of these parks.

Day 7: Dodoma city

A day visit to Dodoma city which is the capital city of Tanzania. You will explore different of the city while getting immersed into the culture of the Tanzanian people. This will get you filled with the culture of Tanzania natives while enjoying the true beauty of the city

Day 8: Lake Manyara national park

On this day you will visit Lake Manyara national park which is the home to the tree climbing lions and several bird species including the lesser flamingos. The park i also perfect for family safaris with the chance to go on a zip lining experience. Enjoy an evening at this magnificent park.

Day 9-11:  Lake Natron

We shall start this 3 day experience at lake Natron with a visit to the lake where you will be able to see various bird species including the lesser flamingos that graces this alkaline lake. You will continue your adventure with Ol Doinyo Lengay Volcano climb where you will enjoy the true nature of this volcanic mountain. You will end you you exploration with the cultural visit to the Maasai people who lives in the neighbouring places of the lake.

Day 12-14: Serengeti national park

You will spend three days in different places of Serengeti national park where you will be able to visit various regions of the park depending on the season of your travel but the area that you will nit miss out is the central Serengeti/ Seronera region which is the home to the big cats and several other animals. The animal distribution demography is highly dependant on the wildebeest migration with the beginning of the year marks the beginning of the migration which starts in southern Serengeti with the calving season. For those whose interest is in witnessing the river crossing of mara river, you can consider visiting Serengeti between June and September when the wildebeest will be in kogatende and Lobo areas of the park.

Day 15-16: Ngorongoro conservation area

The adventure continues to Ngorongoro conservation area, where you will descend to the crater on your first day to have a view to various wildlife that concentrated in this biggest unbroken caldera all over the world. On the lucky day, you will be able to witness all the big five of Africa within the crater before paying a visit to Olduvai gorge where the remains of the first human believed to have been found. The adventure within the conservancy will expand to nearby places including Ndutu area in case your visit is schedule in early months of the year.

Day 17-18: Tarangire national park

For these two days, you will be exploring Tarangire national park. Though less known if compared to Serengeti and Ngorongoro, this park is also unique in its own way. It is known to be the park with highest concentration of elephants and its elephants moves in huge group of their tribes. You will also encounter the famous Bao bab tree that were made famous by their history in the bible. All this and several cats will be encountered while in Tarangire

Day 19: Kilimanjaro national park

Our last day will be spent at Kilimanjaro national park. The park with the highest peak on African continent. The visit to the park will afford a chance to explore around Shira plateau which is located on the northern circuit route

Day 20: transfer to Kilimanjaro international airport.

This will be the final day of your 20 day adventure. After your breakfast, you will be driven to the airport to check in and catch your flight to the next destination and that will mark the end of this great adventure.
