Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International  airport

Located in Arusha, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) is one of the busiest in Africa and an important hub for both freight and tourists traveling to East Africa. A $30 transfer from the airport to Arusha town takes just six hours.

The JKIA terminal is divided into three areas for both departures and arrivals. International flights use sections one and two, while local flights use section three. Depending on the destination, check-in takes place in sections one and two, and every check-in counter uses a CUTE (Common Use Terminal Equipment) system.

The departures area has eight gates, and boarding bridges are used to board the aircraft. Through the same gates, foreign visitors descend onto the A concourse, which takes them to the first-floor immigration counters before being sent to the ground-floor baggage hall. Signage and Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS) are available to help travelers navigate the airport.
