The Olmoti crater is a crater on the extinct Olmoti volcano located in the Ngorongoro district in Arusha. It is situated at the northern end of the Ngorongoro crater where the tallest mountain in Tanzania, Lolmalasin can be viewed. The Olmoti crater is named after the Maasai word, Olmoti which means a big cooking pot due to its shape.

Unlike the Ngorongoro Crater, the Olmoti crater is a shallow and smaller caldera that is about 4 miles wide and has it highest point above sea level being at about 3080m. The Olmoti crater is bisected by the Munge River that flows from the crater walls and provides water for the wildlife in the crater. This river forms a waterfall known as the Munge waterfall that drains into the Ngorongoro crater feeding its water into a number of wetlands and Lake Magadi which is home to a large number of flamingos.

The Olmoti crater floor is covered by water streams, varieties of plants and wildlife species such as antelopes, elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks and elands and other grazing animals.
