For our 3-day lake Manyara and Ngorongoro, you will be able to visit both lake Manyara national park and Ngorongoro conservation area. With both these protected areas located on the same road in the northern Tanzania, the experience will not be short of enjoyment, and you will surely have a lot to tell while exploring this virgin area at any time of the year.
You will start with visiting Lake Manyara national park, famous for the tree climbing lions that can be encountered in the acacia trees that dots the park. The park is also a home to the lesser and greater flamingos plus other animals that call this park their home you will encounter during your stay at the park.
You will continue to visit Ngorongoro crater which is the highlight of the general Ngorongoro conservation area, the crater is the biggest unbroken cradle in the world. This place is the home to the resident wildebeest. Unlike the wildebeest in Serengeti that are migratory and keeps on moving from one place to another, the wildebeest in this place are permanent resident making the big cats also a permanent resident throughout the year. This is the only place offering you a chance to encounter almost everything you can see in Tanzania within a day. In otherward, the crater summarizes the entire Tanzanian safari.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Arusha/ Kilimanjaro airport, transfer to lake Manyara national park
On arrival at either Arusha airport or Kilimanjaro international airport, you will be welcomed by your English-speaking guide (or any other guide that speaks the language of your choice) who will briefly take you through you itinerary before leading you to the supermarket to make some purchases. After briefly exploring Arusha while doing your purchases, you will head to lake Manyara national park, where you will arrive late in evening in time for dinner and an overnight stay. The drive to lake Manyara is a one and half hour drive with a scenic view along the way.
Day 2: game drive at lake Manyara national park, transfer to Simba campsite
On this day, you will start your day with a early morning breakfast before transferring to the lake Manyara national park headquarter for clearance and then start your highly anticipated game drive through the acacia trees that graces the park while searching for the famous tree climbing lions. The only other place in the world where you can see these unique lions is queen Elizabeth national park in Uganda. Therefore, embrace yourself with an opportunity to encounter these lions. You will also be able to see both lesser and greater flamingos, among other big cats. After exploring lake Manyara, you will transfer to peak hotel in Karatu for a night stay and dinner as you are getting ready to descend to the crater for another great day.
Day 3: game drive at Ngorongoro crater, transfer back to Arusha
After the breakfast, you will descend to crater with your picnic lunch to start the search for various animal in this greatest unbroken cradle. During the search, you will encounter the resident wildebeest, several big cats and birds. You will also enjoy the scenic view of the Ngorongoro landscape that makes it to standout as a unique wonder. Once you are through with the wildlife search, you will ascend the crater and transfer back to Arusha to proceed with your next destination and that will be the end of this great adventure.
