Detailed itinerary
Day 1: arrival at Arusha airport, transfer to Tarangire national park
on your arrival at Arusha airport, you will be meant and greeted by your safari guide who will take you through all you need to know before starting your safari. after the briefing, you will transfer to Arusha airport which is a 2 hour drive from Arusha. you will arrive at the park ready to start your game drive experience through this not so famous national park but with a lot to offer. Tarangire is famous for its high concentration of elephants, several big cats and the baobab tree that you will encounter while travelling through the park.
Day 2: Serengeti national park
on this day, after your morning breakfast, you will exit Tarangire national park with enroute morning game drive and head to Serengeti national park with the stop over at Olduvai gorge( The place where the first human remains are believed to have been found). continue to central Serengeti where you will check in to your lodge for relaxation and an overnight stay.
Day 3 to Day 5: game drive in Serengeti, transfer to Karatu
enjoy 3 days of game drive in Serengeti where you will spot various wildlife including the big five of Africa- Lion, rhinos, Elephants, Buffalos band leopards. the park is also a home to several big cats with studies suggesting that Serengeti is the home to the biggest concentration of lions with over 3000 lions estimated to be living within this park. you will also be able to walk in the footstep of the magnificent great migration of wildebeest and Zebras which is a year round event throughout the vast Serengeti and highly influence the animal distribution and the eco system of the park. Depending on your travel time, you might be able to witness he famous mara river crossing of wildebeest that takes place in northern part of the park between June and September. for those interested in encountering the newborn wildebeest and other herbivores, you should plan visiting this park between January and march in the southern part of the park where the migration start from. after Serengeti exploration, exit the park and drive to Karatu where you will be spending your night.
Day 6: game drive at Ngorongoro crater and transfer to Arusha.
after your morning breakfast, you drive to Ngorongoro conservation area and descend to the crater for the game viewing. the crater is the home to all the big five of Africa that can be spotted in less than a day including the rare black rhino. after exploring the biggest caldera in the world, you will descend the crater and drive to Arusha where you will catch your flight to your next destination and that will spell the end of this great adventure.
