Uganda excursion

In Uganda, you will start with the visit to Mgahinga national park, sharing the same terrain as Volcanoes national park as they are both under the great Virunga Mountain range. The park offers a cheap gorilla trekking option when compared to volcanoes national park. You will proceed to lake Bunyonyi for the boat cruise and Batwa cultural experience. After you will proceed to Kibale national park where you will be able to do chimpanzee trekking before continuing to Kampala on your way to Kenya.

Kenya excursion

In Kenya, your safari will start with a visit to Lake Naivasha where you will do a boat cruise and enjoy some relaxation along the lake shores as you prepare to continue with your highly demanding expo. You will continue the safari with the visit Hell’s gate where you will be able to do some bicycle riding and enjoy some walking safari. Proceed to the renowned Masai mara national reserve where you will be able to walk in the footstep of the wildebeest depending on you season of the travel. The park is also known for the high concentration of big cats and beautiful landscape that you will experience during this stay. You will further visit Amboseli national park for the beautiful scenery of the park and have a beautiful view of the magnificent Kilimanjaro Mountain on top of several birds and animals.

The safari will continue to Tanzania where you will start by visiting the materuni waterfall and coffee tour in area around Moshi and later transfer to the renowned Serengeti national park, the home to the great wildebeest migration which is the greatest animal migration in the world. Proceed with the visit to Ngorongoro crater which is the biggest caldera in the world and also a home to all he big five of Africa. You adventure will further take you to lake Eyasi for the meeting with the Hadzabe hunters and Datoga people known for there black smith skills. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: arrival at Kigali airport and transfer to volcanoes national park

On your arrival at Kigali airport, you will be transferred to your accommodation in volcanoes national park where you will be relaxing from and have your dinner plus overnight stay. Depending on your time of arrival, you can choose to have to have Kigali city tour where you will be visiting places genocide memorial centres and Kirimanoko market to get a quick understanding of Kigali.

Day 2: golden monkey trekking at volcanoes national park

Very early in the morning, you will have your breakfast and later transfer to Volcanoes national park headquarter where you will be briefed before joining a group of other trekkers to go to forest to start search of the joyous golden monkeys. These primates live on slightly lower altitude when compared to mountain gorillas. Therefore, the trekking will be less challenging and will take slightly less time of between 1 to 3 hours. After encountering golden monkey, you will spend one hour with these primates before returning to the park head quarter to resume with your journey. You can proceed with an optional boat cruise at the twin’s lake.

Day 3: ibyiwachu cultural visit and transfer to Uganda (kisoro)

A cultural excursion of Rwandese is scheduled for today with a visit to ibyiwacu cultural village where you will enjoy the performances of kinyaranda dance and story telling with un opportunity of you joining in the performance to get the first-hand experience.

Day 4: gorilla tracking a Mgahinga national park

A day to encounter the magnificent gentle giants of Africa in mountain gorillas that call the park home. Mgahinga is blessed with only one gorilla family called Nyakigezi gorilla family and this means that only 8 permits are issued per day, making it very important to book your trekking permit early to avoid any disappoint and the activity is done very early in the morning so you will need to stay close to the park so that you can be there on time.

Day 5: a boat cruise at Lake bunyonyi and cultural visit to Batwa people

After highly demanding mountain gorilla trekking the previous day, you will relax on the shores of lake Bunyonyi, known to be the second deepest lake in Africa after Lake Tanganyika. You will enjoy the boat cruise on the fresh water of the lake, go sport fishing and enjoy walking on the shores of the lake while enjoying the fresh sun.

Day 6: transfer to Kibale national park

After the breakfast, you will start your journey to kibale national park, referred to as the primate capital of the world due to high concentration of different primate species in the park that you will encounter during your trekking.

Day 7: chimpanzee tracking at Kibale national park

Another day to trek another great ape in chimpanzee. Known to be the closest human relative and more active than their cousin: the mountain gorillas. The trekking will take between one to four hours before encountering the chimps. Once encountered, you will have one hour to observe their behaviours before returning to the park headquarter to return to your lodge. You can go for an optional bird watching at Bigodi swamp where you will be able to see various bird species including the rare shoebill stork during this excursion.

Day 8: transfer to Kampala

After the breakfast, you will embark on an 8-hour drive to Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. On reaching to Kampala, you will head to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay after a long day of scenic drive.

Day 9: transfer to Naivasha

Leave Uganda through Busia border to head to Naivasha city of Kenya. The drive to Nairobi is about 12 hours and is a scenic drive and enjoyable one. On arrival to Nairobi, you will check in to your lodge where you will spend your night and relax.

Day 10: a boat cruise and relaxation at lake Naivasha

After 12 hour drive the previous day, you will surely be forgiven for feeling exhausted. Therefore, on this beautiful day you will head to lake Naivasha for you boat cruise safari experience. During the boat cruise you will witness school of hippos, various bird species among other thing that exist either within or on the shores of the lake.

Day 11: a walking safari at Hell’s gate national park, transfer to Masai Mara

Known for its gorge that offers a breathtaking view, a walking safari in Hell’s gate is worthy every bit of your time. You will be able to walk through the gorge while witness different hot springs that are found with the gorge. After the safari, you will head to Masai Mara national park where you will be spending the night outside the park as you prepare to enter the haven of Africa.

Day 12 to day 14: exploring Masai Mara national reserve

For 3 days, you will have a clear understanding of Masai Mara landscape which so diversified and offering one of the best views. You encounter several big cats during these days and most importantly you will have a chance to fallow the great wildebeest migration with a chance to witness the famous mara river cross of wildebeest while they are fighting for their lives against the hungry wildebeest. On the third day, you will transfer to Amboseli national park where you will spend your night.

Day 15: exploring Amboseli national park

After the breakfast, you will head to the park to encounter the early grazers. Amboseli is known for its high concentration of. elephants that live within the park in their family. The park is also known to be the perfect place where you can clearly see the peak of the famous Kilimanjaro Mountain which is the highest free-standing mountain in the world.

Day 16: transfer to Arusha

Wakeup in the morning, have your breakfast and transfer to Arusha through Namanga border where you will arrive in afternoon, check in your lodge and have some relaxation.

Day 17: a visit to Materuni Waterfall and coffee tour around the area

Today you will head to the Moshi, near Kilimanjaro Mountain and visit the Materuni waterfall, known for its breathtaking view that it offers. Not forget your swimming suits as you will be able to swim in the water around the waterfall. After the exploration, you return to the starting point and start the process of making coffee where you will be taken through th whole coffee making process with a chance for you to participate in the process.

Day 18: transfer to Serengeti national park

A day to drive to the renowned Serengeti national park. The drive to Serengeti will last for about 10 hours, taking you through different landscape that you will enjoy along the drive with some stop overs to take the photos.

Day 19 to day 22: exploring Serengeti national park, transfer to Ngorongoro

4 days will be spent in Serengeti national park where you will explore the northern and the central parts of the park. The vast Serengeti national park is the major player in the year-round wildebeest migration where it forms one half of the two park that participate in this greatest animal migration. Beside migration, Serengeti is also believed to be having the highest concentration of lions with over 3000 lions estimated to be living within the park. You will also see various bird species including flamingos and ostriches that all live within this park

Day 23: exploring Ngorongoro conservation area and transferring to lake Eyasi.

Visit the biggest caldera in the world in Ngorongoro crater on this day of your safari. This is the only place where you will be able to see all the big five of lion, rhinos, leopard, elephant and cape buffalo in less than a day. Beside animals the land demography of the crater is one to remember and worthy your visit.

Day 24: Hadzabe and Datoga people visit

Our final activity will go hunting with the traditional hudzabe hunter who lives in areas around lake Eyasi. You will be able to go hunting with them and later visit their cousins, the Datoga people who will teach you the traditional way of making fire

Day 25: transfer to Kilimanjaro airport to drop the car and end your trip

On this day, you will return to arusha or Kilimanjaro international airport where you will catch your next flight and that will be the end of this great adventure.
