Experience Tanzania from the Comfort
Welcome to the exciting journey! However, the vast plains are also home to exceptionally dense populations of lion, leopard, cheetah, and other predators. The Serengeti is famous for hosting an annual migration of at least two million wildebeest, plains zebra, and gazelle, the greatest spectacle of its kind in Africa. It also has a liberating sense of space that is best enjoyed on an early-morning balloon safari. Begin and finish in Mwanza!
Normally most trip to Serengeti like all other trip to northern circuit will start and end at Arusha city, known to be the tourism capital of Tanzania. However, due to the long distance from Arusha to Serengeti, it is impossible to have a 2-day road trip from Arusha to Serengeti. A trip from Arusha requires to have a minimum of 5 days to Serengeti. However, for those with limited time or planning to travel on budget and wouldn’t wish to pay the transit fee through Ngorongoro that you must pay if your adventure starts from Arusha. Then starting your safari adventure to Serengeti from Mwanza is viable option as Mwanza is very close to Serengeti and will not require you to pass through Ngorongoro conservation area.
This 2-day trip only offer with the driver guide and can be booked as either a camping or a lodging safari and will allow you to access Serengeti through the western collider where you will enter the park from Ndabaka gate of Serengeti.

Here is our 2-day itinerary to Serengeti from Mwanza
Summary itinerary
Day 1: Mwanza-Serengeti National Park
Day 2: Serengeti National Park Back to Mwanza
We will bring a packed lunchbox for your safari when we pick you up from the hotel or lodge in Mwanza. Drive to Serengeti National Park’s Ndabaka gate at 6:00. When we get there, we’ll do a full day game drive down the river to see the hippo pool and every other animal in the park. There is a lot to see here. After lunch at noon (13:00), you will continue on with a game drive for the remainder of the day. Return to the campsite for dinner and your overnight stay following the wildlife drives.
After breakfast, you’ll take part in a game drive and wildlife viewing in Serengeti National Park early in the morning, where you should observe a number of animals. The term “Serengeti,” which means “endless plain” in Maasai, comes from the region’s size of 14763 square kilometers. Consequently, a variety of creatures, such as giraffes, elephants, and lions, call it home. After a picnic lunch in the park, you will be driven to Mwanza City.
The Western Corridor area’s main access gate is 145 kilometers from Seronera and about an hour and a half’s drive from Mwanza. The gate is open every day from 06:00 to 18:00, but please be aware that the final time to enter is at 16:00.
In Serengeti National Park, a one-week safari typically costs between $2,500 USD (budget) and $7,500 USD (luxury). Since the majority of facilities and permissions are covered by the trip price, booking a safari with self-drive Tanzania offers the benefit of cost elimination.
Indeed! All things considered, both a high and a cheap budget can have an amazing safari. The low end offers a special chance for adventure that some seasoned travelers enjoy, provided you don’t mind forgoing some luxuries and sticking to a larger, more accessible national park.
Flying to one of the park’s seven airstrips from Arusha is the most practical choice. An overland safari in a 4×4 safari vehicle from Arusha to Serengeti National Park can also be scheduled, with stops at one or two other parks en route.
The short answer is no. Within national parks, there are very few public restrooms. You will be using the bush toilet if, while on safari, you feel the urge to use the restroom and are unable to wait until you return to camp.
Due to the excellent campsites and the fact that it is by far the greatest location to view the Great Migration herds, the northern Serengeti is quite popular. Because the North is among the best places for both driving and walking safaris, it is also the region of choice for safari enthusiasts.
The North of the Serengeti is hugely popular due to the high-quality campsites and also because it is by far the best place to see the herds of the Great Migration. The North is also the chosen region for safari aficionados because it’s one of the finest regions for a walking safari as well as driving.
