The safari will start from Kigali airport of Rwanda which is the nearest international airport to Bwindi impenetrable national par of Uganda and at Kilimanjaro international airport in Arusha region of Tanzania offering you a chance to visit 4 east African countries as in the process you will also pass through Kenya while heading to Tanzania with a brief stop at mountain Elgon on Uganda – Kenya border.

Day 1: arrival at Kigali airport, transfer to Bwindi national park

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: arrival at Kigali airport, transfer to Bwindi national park

On your arrival at Kigali international airport, you will be welcomed by your driver guide who will brief you about the functionality of the car for a self-drive client or take you through your safari itinerary before transferring you to Kisolo district of Uganda where Bwindi national park is located. The drive will take you through diversifying landscape via Chanika border where you will carry out the custom responsibility in order to cross over to Uganda. You will arrive at your lodge on time for your dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: gorilla trekking at Bwindi national park

Wake up very early in the morning for your breakfast before transferring to the park headquarter where you will be welcomed by the park guide and rangers who will take you through the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking after assigning you to the group of maximum 8 other trekkers. After the briefing, in the company of your guide, you will head to the forest while searching for these gentle giants. The search will last for about 1 to 6 hours until when you will encounter these endangered primates. Once encountered, you will be allocated one hour to spend with gorillas while observing their behaviors. When the hour elapses, you will return to the park headquarter to return to you lodge for relaxation. You can opt to pay a visit to Batwa pigmy experience which is an optional activity.

Day 3: transfer to Kenya

After the breakfast, you will start on your drive to Kenya via Sipi river and mountain Elgon and through Suam border. The drive to the border is about 6-hour drive and is a scenic drive with a lot of varying landscape to witness along the way. You will have a brief stop at Mountain Elgon to witness the creativity of our lord. Continue to cross the Suam border as you head towards the Kenya-Tanzania border of Isbania. You will spend your night near Isbania border.

Day 4: transfer to Serengeti national park

Continue with your journey to the famous Serengeti national park. The drive from isbania to Serengeti national park will last for about 3 hours and once you are at the park, you will start with your animal search through the vast plain of Serengeti.

Day 4 and day 5: game drive at Serengeti.

2 full day of animal search is the vast Serengeti national park. This UNESCO world heritage national park is famously known for being a home to the highest concentration of big cats in the world with over 3000 lions estimated to be living me within the park. You will also be able to sport big herds of elephants and all the big five of Africa with rhinos exceptionally preserved at Moru Kopjes area of the park. At Moru Kopjes area you will be able to trek rhinos with 100 percent guarantee of encountering them. You will also encountering several antelopes and various bird species on top of breathtaking view of Serengeti landscape, not forgetting the wildebeest and zebra migration that takes place in different parts of the park at different time of the year.

Day 6: transfer to Karatu

After a morning game drive in central or southern Serengeti depending on the time of the year of your safari, you will transfer to Karatu area with a stop over at Olduvai gorge to witness the place where the first human remains are believed to have been found. The drive will continue to karatu where you will arrive late in evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Ngorongoro crater

After your routine morning breakfast, you will transfer the Ngorongoro crater, the biggest unbroken caldera in the world. The drive to Ngorongoro will take about 2 hours and once you arrive at the conservancy, you will descend to the crater where you will be able to witness all the big five of Africa on top of various bird species that lives around the crater lake of Ngorongoro and the nearby swampy area, making the crater a haven for the birder as well as wildlife enthusiasts. After exploring the crater, transfer to Tarangire national park where you will be spending your night in lodges around mto wambu

Day 8: Tarangire national park

After the breakfast, you will head to Tarangire notional park, known for its herds of elephants that lives in their clans. The park is also famous for baobab tree that were made famous by the scripture in the bible in the book of revelation where it is being referred to as the tree of life. The park is also a haven to birds that can be encountered around tarangire river and several big cats that all call the park there home

Day 9: transfer to Kilimanjaro international airport.

It is time to say goodbye to Tanzania wildlife and Uganda primate after the whooping 9 days of new discovery, you will transfer to Kilimanjaro international airport to catch your flight to your next destination.
