The 10 Days Bwindi and volcanoes double gorillas and Serengeti safari will take you to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park of Uganda where you will do mountain gorilla trekking. The activity will offer you a chance to walk with the gentle giants of Africa in their natural habitants. You will continue with your exploration to the volcanoes national park Rwanda where you will pay a second visit to our cousins in their natural habitants in hills of Virunga mountains range. After gorilla visiting, you will fly to Tanzania where you will visit Serengeti national park and Ngorongoro conservation area for wildlife viewing before flying back home from Kilimanjaro international airport.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: arrival in Uganda and pickup

On your arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will be welcomed by your driver guide who will brief you about your safari itinerary before transferring you to your lodge around Entebbe city. Depending on your time of arrival, you can opt to go to Mabamba swamp, the home to the rare shoebill stork. You will have a chance to witness this rare bird in its natural habitats among other birds.

Day 2: transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park

After your morning game drive, you will start your 9-hour drive to the famous Bwindi national park located in southwestern Uganda with a stop over at 00 equator at Kayabwe where you will be having your lunch from. The journey to Bwindi is characterized with a beautiful scenic one and will be one to remember

Day 3: gorilla trekking at Bwindi

After your morning breakfast, you will head to the Bwindi national park headquarter at the one of the 4 sectors of Nkuringo, Ruhija, Buhoma or Rushaga-where you can even do gorilla habituation, the experience that allow you to spend 4 hours with mountain gorillas. Bwindi is credited with being a home to over 50 percent of the mountain gorilla total population. The gorilla trekking experience at Bwindi start with the briefing before being assigned to the group of eight other trekker to head to the impenetrable forest of Bwindi in search for the gentle giants of Africa. The search for these great apes will take between 1 to 6 hours and once you encounter mountain gorillas, you will be allocated with one hour of observing their behaviour before returning to the park headquarter to drive back to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. You will spend the evening of the day either relaxing at your lodge or paying a homage to Batwa cultural experience.

Day 4: Transfer to volcanoes national park Rwanda

After the breakfast, you will transfer to the volcanoes national park through the diversifying landscape that characterize the southwestern part of Uganda and Rwanda as whole. The area is hilly one giving you a chance to see different altitude along the way making the trip a scenic one. Arrive to volcanoes via Chanika border late in the evening for your dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking at volcanoes

Another day for gorilla trekking within the Virunga mountains range. After early morning breakfast, you will transfer to Volcanoes national park headquarter in Kinigi region where you will be briefed by the ranger and divided into a group of 8 trekkers, the same way it was done in Bwindi national park. The search for gorillas will last for about 1 to 6 hour and you will have a chance to spend another hour with mountain gorillas but this time in different terrain. After trekking, return to your lodge for the lunch. You can choose to spend the evening relaxing at the lodge or opt to go to Twin lakes for an evening game drive or visiting ibyiwacu cultural village.

Day 6: fly to Arusha airport, transfer to Serengeti

After your breakfast, you will fly to Arusha airport where your local guide will be waiting for you to transfer you to Serengeti national park. This 8-hour drive is a scenic that will take you to Olduvai gorge to have a look at a place where the first human remains are believed to have been found. You will continue with your drive to your lodge in Serengeti where you will arrive late in the evening for dinner and resting.

Day 7-9: Serengeti national park

You will have 2 and half days in vast Serengeti national park searching for various wildlife species including lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, elands, cape buffalo, hippos, jackals, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, cheetahs among others. The park is also a home to several bird species that you will witness during the game drive. Not forgetting the magnificent landscape that make Serengeti to standout of the rest. During these 3 days you will encounter all this and many more. Be prepared to encounter all that during this stay in Serengeti before departing to Ngorongoro conservation area on day 9 where you will spend a night and have dinner on that day

Day 10: Ngorongoro crater and return to Arusha to fly back home

After the morning breakfast, you will descend to crater where you will spend half a day observing different will wildlife including all the big five of Africa- lion, leopard, elephants, rhinos, and cape buffalo. You will also see various bird species including both lesser and larger flamingos that call the park the home. In evening, you will ascend the crater and transfer to Kilimanjaro airport where you will catch your next flight and that will spell the end of this magnificent safari.
