Our 6 days gorilla trekking tour and Serengeti safari will take you to Rwanda’s volcanoes national park where you will do mountain gorilla trekking before flying out to Arusha city of Tanzania to start on your wildlife safari that will lead you to the renowned Serengeti national park to witness the various wildlife and the vast Serengeti plain with the chance to walk through the footstep of the famous wildebeest migration. You will also visit the biggest unbroken caldera in the world in Ngorongoro crater where you will encounter all the big five of Africa beside the beautiful, diversified landscape. The trip will start from Kigali city of Rwanda and end at Arusha city of Tanzania.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: arrival at Kigali airport, transfer to Volcanoes national park
On arrival at Kigali international airport, our driver in will meet you and take you through the basics of the car before handing over your gorilla trekking permit to let you start your road trip to Volcanoes national park in event where you are going for a self-drive experience. Otherwise, your driver will drive you to your lodge to volcanoes national park where you will get some relaxation, take dinner and stay overnight as you are preparing for your gorilla trekking event the following day.
Day 2: gorilla trekking, transfer to Arusha
Wake up very early in the morning, take your breakfast and transfer to the volcanoes national park headquarters where you will be welcomed by the park guides and rangers before being assigned to the group of other trekkers for the briefing about gorilla trekking experience before heading to the forest to start the search of these great apes. The search will last about 1 to 6 hours. Once you encounter gorillas, you will be offered one hour to observe them play and go about their daily routine. Not forget to follow the guide of gorilla trekking. For cheaper gorilla trekking permit, you consider visiting Uganda’s Mgahinga gorilla national park. After the trekking experience, return to Kigali airport to catch your next flight to Arusha to embark on wildlife viewing experience. On arrival to Arusha, our local guide will be waiting for you to either hand over the car to you in case you are on self drive safari or to transfer you to your lodge in event you are on a guided safari.
Day 3: transfer to Serengeti national park
After your breakfast, you will embark on an 8-hour drive to Serengeti national park. The drive is scenic one with a chance to see different landscapes along the way. You will also have a chance for a stop over at Olduvai gorge where the first human remain are believed to have been found. You will continue with your drive to Serengeti where you will arrive late in the evening and check in to your lodge where you will have your dinner and an over night stay as you get ready for the following day.
Day 4: full day game drive at Serengeti
After the morning breakfast, you will embark on the animal search through the vast Serengeti national park. You will be able to spot all the big five of Africa including lions, leopard, elephant, cape buffalo and rhinos. You will also see various other herbivores like zebras, and the famous wildebeest. The park is also a home to various bird species and antelopes that you are likely to encounter during this adventure. After a full day adventure, you will return to your lodge for relaxation.
Day 5: morning game drive, transfer to Ngorongoro crater
Start your morning with a game drive to meet the early risers. The morning drive also offer a huge chance of seeing predator prey interaction. Lookout for the spot where search activities may happen to enhance your experience. After the morning game drive, head out of the park to Karatu where you will arrive at crater view inn late in evening for an overnight stay and dinner.
Day 6: Game drive at Ngorongoro, transfer to Arusha
Drive Ngorongoro and descend to the crater for the view of all the big five of Africa in less than a day. Beside the various animal species which includes the resident wildebeest. The crater is also famous for its uniquely diversified landscape and is the home to various bird species including both lesser ang greater flamingos and the rare ostriches. After this excursion, you will return to Arusha to catch your next flight and that will be the end of this great adventure.
