Trip overview

With our 10 days Serengeti flying safari with accommodation, you will start your trip from either arusha airport or Kilimanjaro airport with the flight to either Kogatende airstrip or Seronera airstrip all depending on what you will be interested in to see. For those targeting the mara river crossing of wildebeest between June and September, you will be advised to land at Kogatende whereas those interested in the big cats viewing, it will be better if you land at Seronera. However, the place where you will be landing to will majorly be influenced by the season of your travel plan. With over a dozen of airstrip in the park, you will be able to land anywhere you want to land to within the park.

The flying safari is more suitable for visitor who have got limited time, but they wish to drive to Serengeti. This will allow you to save your valuable time and believe, it is not an expensive option as you may think as you will be able to save the transit fee through Ngorongoro which is about 75$ and the flight itself will cost you between 150$ and 200$.

With the flying safari you will miss out on the beautiful scenery along the route, but you will also save your valuable time. Remember, we only recommend this plan for the people with the limited time, and they wouldn’t wish to miss out on the opportunity of visiting Serengeti national park

Day 1: arrival at Kilimanjaro and transfer to your lodge

On your day of arrival at the airport your driver guide will meet you and transfer you to your lodge where you will be relaxing from to shake off the jetlag and have a deserved rest and have your dinner from there.

Day 2: fly from Arusha to kogatende airstrip of Serengeti, evening game drive

Wake up very early in the morning for your breakfast before transferring to Arusha airport where you will catch your local charter to either kogatende airstrip or seronera airstrip where your guide will already be waiting for you to start your safari. The flight to Serengeti will last about 1 hour. Therefore, you will be able to start your morning game drive within the park where you will be able to see different wildlife within the park.

Day 3: full day Serengeti northern game drive

Today you will have a full day game drive through Serengeti northern or central part depending on the season and what you will be interested in encountering. This day you are likely to encounter the big five of Africa that include leopard, lion, elephant, cape buffalo and rhinos. You will also see different grazers including the famous wildebeest who are the darlings of Serengeti.

Day 4: drive to southern Serengeti with the game drive enroute

Another to experience the beauty of Serengeti and explore more within the park. You will continue to explore whatever you would have missed out during the first 2 days and continue enjoying the diversified landscape of Tanzania and its beauty. You will spend the night in central Serengeti after the full day of the game drive.

Day 5: central Serengeti game drive and a drive to Ngorongoro crater.

Start with the morning game drive through central Serengeti to encounter the early morning grazers in the park. During this time, you will also have higher chances of encountering the predator prey interaction that usually occur during these early morning hours. At afternoon, drive to your lodge in Ngorongoro where you will spend your night.

Day 6: early crater loop and ascend to tarangire

A day to descend to the Ngorongoro where you will having higher chances of encountering all the big five of Africa within a day while in the biggest caldera in the world. The crater is rich with a lot of wildlife that you will encounter as you drive through the park. You will also encounter several bird species including flamingos and ostriches that you will see. After exploring the crater, ascend and drive to tarangire where you will be spending your night.

Day 7: early morning game drive at Tarangire and return to arusha.

Early morning game drive in Tarangire will start your day where you will encounter lions that moves in their family. The park is famously known for the huge herds of elephants that graces the ground and the famous baobab tree that is being about in the bible (Jeremiah 17:7-8). You will also see several big cats that leaves within the park. Later in the day, you will drive to arusha where you will be spending your night.

Day 8: transfer to kimanjaro international airport (JRO)

This will be the final day of your safari adventure. You will start the day with the breakfast before transferring to the airport to catch up with your next flight. Depending on the time of you safari, you might choose to first have a city tour in Arusha before head to Kilimanjaro to catch the flight and that will be the end of this great adventure.
